Wapiti Ways
Recognized as one of the original Alberta pioneers, my great-grandfather farmed in the Granum area while raising a hardy family of thirteen. His work ethic was only matched by his love for the land and respect for his fellow man.
As a fourth generation Alberta farming family, we strive to preserve the strengths of our inheritance while blending old and new in raising farmed elk.
Indigenous to Alberta, our elk are some of the most efficient protein producers on the planet. Each elk eats one-third the amount that cattle do, while producing meat with 25 percent more protein and only, one-eighth the fat.
As a Certified Alberta Environmental Farm, we not only raise our animals in an organic manner, but run every operation on our farm within strict “environmental” guidelines – the future of farming in Alberta.
This philosophy enables us to continue our great-grandfathers’ vision.
We are Calgary’s Elk Farmer.
Check out our new video for more info on the benefits of Elk.
