In 1997 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. While on chemotherapy a friend and I decided to cook Greek Food and sell it at farmers markets, christmas markets, catering, etc. We managed to do a couple of markets and my 6 months of chemo and radiation finally finished. Sad but my friend no longer wanted to do it, I always enjoyed cooking and baking so I decide to continue. Summer markets started and I was invited to join a market for the summer, before I knew it I was doing 4 markets a week. In 2002 The Calgary Farmers Market was born and 2 Greek Gals turned to a family business. Here we are today 2018 with a very profitable business. “Cook with your heart and you shall succeed”
