TotaliTea – The Tea Boutique
From buying organic foods to getting regular exercise and reducing stress, most everyone these days is looking for ways to lead a healthier lifestyle. What ancient cultures have known for centuries – and a growing number of North American connoisseurs are catching on to – is that a simple cup of tea can do wonders for the body, mind and spirit.
David and Carol Pidhirney, the husband and wife team that owns TotaliTea The Tea Boutique, have been bestowing the benefits of tea drinking to thousands of eager sippers. Both have been tea drinkers most of their lives, but neither fully appreciated the delicious complexity and science of the world’s most popular beverage until they became immersed in it themselves.
Perusing the 180+ offerings in TotaliTea is a soothing almost hypnotic experience. Customers are encouraged to open the sample jars to see and smell before they buy. In addition to 50g and 100g packages, many varieties are sold by the cup so you can taste what tickles your fancy before committing to it.
Guiding customers through exotic offerings from China, Japan, India, Africa and other faraway and exotic locales, in addition to helping them learn the subtle nuances of steeping that make each cup of tea an enriching experience is in large part what the Pidhirneys enjoy most about their business, but sharing the benefits of tea is what they truly find satisfying.
“It tastes good and it’s good for you,” says David. “You need to know how to prepare your varieties the right way to get the most benefit from them, but it’s not difficult to learn. We’re here to show you how.”
