Burnt to Order
Chef and owner Jesse King is a red seal chef who has worked at many of Calgary’s best regarded restaurants. She is a highly creative perfectionist who embraces the challenge of turning out hundreds of perfect pots of crème brûlée each week.
Burnt to Order serves hand-crafted, hand-fired crème brûlée prepared using traditional French methodology combined with modern flavors and techniques. Our menu reflects our love of both locally sourced and exotic ingredients and changes often to reflect the seasons and Chef Jesse’s restless soul.
Burnt to Order believes that quality ingredients are essential when preparing crème brûlée. We hand separate more than 1000 farm fresh eggs each week, use whole cream and real vanilla bean. We believe that sugar should excite not numb the palette and as a result our brûlées are less sweet than typical North American desserts.
Crème brûlée is naturally gluten-free and we always have a great vegan option on the menu.

J.Webb Market Wines
We’re extremely excited to be welcoming back J.Webb Wines to the Calgary Farmers’ Market family. You may or may not remember but they had a location at our Currie Barracks location, and we have missed them very much and elated to be pairing up with them again. J.Webb Market Wines is OPEN in the big red #winequonset in the NE corner of our parking lot.
The store is similar to other J. Webb’s in that it will be feature primarily small, independent, family wineries focused on organic and sustainable production. The target price will be under $25 wines, focused on value, everyday drinking. The beer selection will be entirely craft and local beers with a growler fill station so they can have small batch unique beers on tap.

Patrick and Susan moved to Canada from South Africa in March 1977. Berit Havre Designs
Berit is affectionately known by her customers as “The Jacket Lady”, and she’s happy to oblige.
As an immigrant from Norway in 1986, Berit had always worked in the creative aspect of clothing and fashion, but as a mother of four she needed to find a way to pay the bills in a new country. She started out making children’s clothing and found that customers were always asking her to make jackets. Since then, her business has expanded to include hand-knitted items, hats, slippers and a variety of other clothing items, and of course the jackets that made her famous which are now available for all ages in a variety of prints and colours.

Welcome to Flowers at the Market - the new flower shop at the Calgary Farmers’ Market. We specialize in fresh seasonal bouquets bought directly from BC every week. You can pick and arrange your favourite flowers, or trust the expertise of our designers, who build fresh arrangements every day and have over 30 years of combined experience. Simply place your order at our shop, get the rest of your shopping done, and your flowers will be ready for you on your way out the door!
Our flowers come from the growers’ auction. While this allows us to keep our prices low by cutting out the middle man, it also means our selection varies each week, and the prices may fluctuate during peak seasons. Due to our limited space, we prioritize a diverse flower offering; however, we will also offer seasonal accessories such as candles, napkins and vases.
For the upcoming holiday season, we encourage you to bring in your favorite vase or container and allow us to build your centerpiece to suit your table. Ask us about outdoor Christmas green containers, a great look for any front entrance when company arrives!

Proudly specializing in organic local baby food, we also carry a variety of unique, handmade gifts and supplies for babies, toddlers, new mothers and children of all ages. Most of our products are sourced here in Canada. We are very proud to support local artisans!
I always like to be the one at the baby shower with the coolest, most unique gifts. Finding it hard to buy fabulous, organic, or handmade gifts in my price range that still meet my standards of ‘stunning’, I decided to open my own shop. Armed with the belief that the only pampering products that touch mama and baby should be 100% organic, and striving to be local and environmentally friendly, we opened our doors at the beginning of summer 2014.
We are proud to carry a great selection of reusable snack bags, and organic cotton washcloths made right here in Canada by Colibri, a full line of organic bath and baby maintenance products made fresh by locally-based All Things Jill. Everyone raves about the baby bum balm! We also carry 100% Canadian wool dryer balls, plain and patterned, made in Kelowna, BC. We also import some wonderful toys from Europe which are designed to help children develop motor skills in their first few years. One of our most popular items are the crayon rocks. They are designed for little hands and made with soy-based wax which washes off the walls easily and won’t melt in your car.

We are a local family owned business that specializes in supplying high quality authentic European meats, cheeses and breads. Good food is a tradition that we pride ourselves in maintaining by sharing a unique glimpse into old country methods handed down for generations.
Where It all Started
Originally established in …the tradition of preparing cured meats was passed down to Luc by his grandfather, Cosmo. Native to the region of Calabria, Cosmo DeMaria grew up in a large Italian household where food and family always came together. “I came to Canada, and I thought about doing something from home” recalls Cosmo. Together, with his wife Lisa and son Jim, Cosmo began selling his products at various farmers markets throughout Ontario. Over the past 27 years, Cosmo has devoted his time ensuring high quality products for his costumers. Today, Cosmo’s understanding and appreciation of flavour, texture and variety makes his business a destination, not only for those of European extraction, but for all who wish to bring authenticity into their home.
The love for authentic, premium food, family and entertaining continues on today. In order to support and preserve Cosmo’s legacy, Luc, alongside his Father, Bruce, and Mother, Sonia carried on the family tradition and brought the business to the west. Luc’s European Meats was founded in Calgary in 2015 and now shares this tradition with several markets in and around the Calgary area.
Luc’s strongly believes in offering personable service and treating every customer like a family member. Luc’s also gaurantees the quality and service of their product.

Meet the Owner’s
Bruce began his career in the food industry as a kitchen manager for various restaurants. His attention to detail and passion for high quality food ensures that the company has a high expectation for standard and customer service.
Sonia enjoys researching and sharing family recipes to the customers, often spending her time at work creating charcuterie trays and appetizers. Her creative nature and Italian background brings an authentic, innovative touch to the business.
When Luc was 10 years old, he began spending his summers working alongside his Grandpa, Cosmo and Uncle, Jim learning the practices of the family business. After graduating, Luc had a dream to bring the family business to the west.

We are a sandwich shop like no other in Calgary…the kind of shop that I have been searching for over the past many years. After a while I simply decided that it was time to just do it myself. For as long as I can remember food has been a passion of mine. This passion led me to complete the Professional Cooking Program at SAIT immediately after my time at U of C. I then worked in various restaurants before moving into the corporate world. After almost 10 years it was time to get back to doing what I love. When the opportunity to own a shop in the Calgary Farmers market came up I had to jump on it.
Our focus is to make sandwiches that you will dream about. Nothing is off limits for us and if you have a suggestion we are willing to try it. We try to use locally sourced products as much as possible, particularly from Calgary Farmers Market Vendors.

Sandy Angle - Artist
Sandy was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD) in 1981. Her creative energies have taken her in several different directions over the years including ceramics, photography, and wire and paper art. After taking jewelry courses at ACAD, she was inspired to make jewelry design the focus of her creative energies.
In 2004 she opened “Stillwater Design Studio.” The studio is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Redwood Meadows, Alberta. Many of her designs are contemporary and organic in nature, reflecting the natural world around her. She prefers to work with sterling silver, often incorporating semi-precious stones and lamp work glass into her designs.
Mozack Wood creates handmade custom woodwork… that is all one of a kind! Our products range from Cutting Boards, Tables, Chess Boards, and more. All of our products are created from high quality woods and hand crafted to create pieces that can’t be replicated. Due to our high level of custom orders, we are able to work with our customers to create completely unique items; we love to discuss new projects!

Los Chilitos is a family run business, owned by Ileana Myhill. She was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico and came to Canada 9 years ago. Her great passion for food and people inspired her to open Los Chilitos Taco & Tequila House on the famous Red Mile-17th Ave SW in November 2009. Ileana wanted to give the people of Calgary an authentic Mexican dining experience that she felt was lacking in Calgary. It was such a success in the first year of operations, Ileana decided to expand and join the Calgary Farmers’ Market and open up Los Chilitos Taqueria.
At the new Taqueria, Calgarians can choose from a variety of dishes such as the famous Tacos Al Pastor, seen on vertical rotisseries throughout Mexico, our soon to be famous fish tacos, sopes, burritos, and a wonderful selection of Mexican breakfast items. We use 100% corn tortillas, and all salsas and guacamole are made fresh in-house using local suppliers and all dishes are made fresh to order. Eats of Asia
Eats of Asia was started in 2012 at Millarville Farmers Market as part of their Saturday Street Feast. Since then, owners, Jay and Jolayne del Corro have taken their unique Asian street eats to Calgary via farmers markets, night markets, and from their popular food truck.
The food is a culinary tour of Asia, from their Taiwanese steamed bao with slow braised pork belly, delicious rice bowls, hand-pulled noodles, to homemade ramen. The menu is always fresh and ever changing.

Formerly the Bakery @ the Market this tried and true family business is run by David and Debbie Catling and frequently staffed by some of their seven children. With more than 50 years experience in the food industry between them, the Catlings are former owners of The Stock and Sauce. Seeing a hole that needed to be filled, the Catlings decided to open an authentic artisan bakery inspired by the French and West Coast boulangeries. Specializing in potted desserts and French macarons, it is their breads that the Catlings are the most proud of. From fig and fennel to four cheese foccaccia, David says the key is the 5 consistent ingredients: flour, water, yeast, salt and most importantly – time.
The Vitamin Cupboard
Tambra Fedoroshyn has been in the alternative health industry for seven years. With a constant desire for higher education, and with a love for alternative health, she graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition with a strong desire to teach natural nutrition. For seven years Tambra lived with insomnia, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Thankfully she found natural health and truly understands the importance of the body/mind/spirit approach to attaining and maintaining optimal health.
Wayne’s Bagels provides the authentic Montreal-style bagels to Calgarians for 12 years. We were in Where Magazine for the editor’s pick, voted number one for favourite bagels in Calgary by KISS FM and CBC Radio, in addition to appearances on Chinese national television and multiple appearances on the Big Breakfast Show.
The reason why Wayne’s Bagels became so popular is how we make our bagels. We make our dough with a unique recipe and bake them with 15 ton wood-fired oven. Of course we boil them before we bake them. We carry 14 different kinds of bagels. They are all low in calories, close to 0g fat and no cholesterol.

The Silk Road is a family business inspired by the senses. We love to cook and experiment with unusual ingredients. And when you love to feed the senses, there’s nothing quite like the colours, smells and flavours of spices. We are totally passionate about the ability of spices to turn a standard kitchen into an incredible adventure.
We started The Silk Road in 2008 after realizing that it was very difficult – if not impossible – to find the spices, herbs and chiles we needed for recipes we wanted to try. One recipe would often mean trips to several different stores, and sometimes there would still be something we just couldn’t find. We used to wonder why there wasn’t one specialty shop that had every kind of spice imaginable, and eventually we decided to open that shop ourselves.
We sell a complete range of spices, herbs, chiles and seasonings from around the world and take great care in sourcing the finest products available. As much as we can, we grind our own spices to ensure they are never sitting for months in a warehouse. All of our spice blends are hand-mixed and have been developed, tested, and perfected by us. Sharla Dube started her produce business the year of 1995 in Canmore. Hauling two tables out to the farmers’ market each weekend and filling them with fresh BC fruits direct from the growers was her respite from a hectic day job. Today, her fresh fruits and vegetables take up more than 2,400 square feet of space and a lot more than two tables. The Cherry Pit specializes in locally grown fruits and vegetables direct from the growers, but Sharla loves bringing in those hard-to-find items like fiddleheads, fresh figs and micro greens. As a mom she realizes the importance of healthy living.

Gull Valley Greenhouses
In 1992 Phil Tiemstra of Gull Valley Greenhouses built his first six bays of green houses where he grew tomatoes. Every few years he expanded and now has three acres of land where he grows a wide variety of tomatoes, which include Beefsteak, Tomato on the Vine, Cocktail on the Vine, Roma, Cherry, Grape, Yellow, Orange, Heirloom, Mini Roma, and Cherry on the Vine. The tomatoes are picked fully ripened, and handled only at the picking and selling stages.
In addition to tomatoes, Phil also carries a variety of peppers, living lettuce, and Italian Romano green beans. All of his products are packaged for sale the day before being brought to market, ensuring that customers get the freshest and tastiest vegetable Phil can provide. All of Phil’s produce is grown without the use of pesticides and herbicides.

Louise Kollmel of Artistically Inclined was born in Ontario, growing up around National Parks and The Great Lakes. She has always had a great passion for creating art.
Upon moving to Calgary in 1998, Louise was inspired by the natural beauty of Alberta. She began creating her colorful pieces in 2003 using layers of ink.
Louise’s artwork features a variety of subject matter including still life, abstract, wildlife, and landscapes. These contemporary pieces range in size small to the very large, in prints and originals at price points for everyone.
She is noted for her strong sense of color, attention to detail and whimsical approach. This artwork is beautiful, fresh and uplifting for the home, office or cottage.

My full name is Shefali Somani, but everyone calls me Shef (just like you think it would sound). I was born in Tanzania, though both my parents are originally from Gujarat, India. Since my youth, I took a great interest in learning to cook from my mother and grew up in her kitchen. Over the years, as her student, I’ve learned how to make many East Indian dishes and now I would like to share that knowledge with you. Most of the dishes my sister Sharon and I prepare are Indian with an East African influence. Like the languages and religions of India, East Indian cuisine is very regional and can vary from province to province and from family and family. These recipes are passed down to me through my family. At our shop at the market you will find a variety of Indian and Thai specialities both ready to eat and frozen so you can prepare it at home for your family.

Henry Wu has been in the business of making fine food BY HAND for over 45 years. Henry started as a certified chef instructor in Shanghai, China.

A Taste of Quebec
It all started in 2002 for founder Claire Duchesne. Delivering curd cheese to homes and businesses around Calgary, Claire’s friendly smile and positive attitude gained her much respect and business growth. Forming A Taste of Quebec in 2004 and joining the Calgary Farmers’ Market was the obvious business evolution. In the humble beginnings of A Taste of Quebec curd cheese and Maple products were the main staples. The addition of Quebec traditional Tourtieres, sugar pie, Chutney, St-Hubert, El-Ma-Mia, cretons , cream fudge and pot pies was only a natural progression. We also serve Quebec traditional poutine, Montreal Smoked Meat sandwiches and soups on site. We are proud to have our flagship retail location with the Calgary Farmers’ Market and look forward to serving our clients with traditional Quebec dishes for years to come.
Going Nuts Inc. is located in Calgary Alberta. Owned by Chris Schlemm and his partner Brenda Jenkyns, the business has strong roots in Calgary who have been with the market since its inception. With a great variety of unique flavours, Going Nuts produces incredibly fresh and tasty flavoured nuts, seeds, granola and granola bars from scratch, each week.

Field Stone Fruit Wines
Regardless of how bushes look at any time of year, when he looks out over his vast fields of berry bushes, Marvin Gill sees only fruit in a bottle. “Fruit wine is like bottling up summer to be enjoyed all year long,” says Gill, who, with four other partners owns Alberta’s first cottage winery – Field Stone Fruit Wines of Strathmore.
Field Stone Fruit Wines opened its doors in 2005 upon receiving Alberta’s very first cottage winery license, which allowed Alberta fruit growers to produce and sell fruit wines. The winery sits on 50 acres of mature berry orchards, located forty minutes east of Calgary. Luscious crops of raspberries, strawberries, wild black cherries and Saskatoon berries are harvested and turned into ten delicious fruit wines, all available at the Calgary Farmers’ Market.
For many years, this popular U-Pick orchard has been known for its exceptional fruit, harvesting extra sweet berries. Innisfail Growers Co-op
Innisfail Growers is a co-operative of farmers from Innisfail who all work together to provide a great selection of products for market customers.
Beck Farms, formed in 1986, has been crafting the art of growing carrots for over 20 years. Shelley and Rod Bradshaw, along with their two sons, are committed to growing and packing only the highest quality products which now include more than just carrots.
Doug and Elna Edgar and family started growing peas and asparagus in 1986 on our century farm. These are still the main vegetables on the Edgars’ farm with the asparagus as the highlight of many Calgarians’ summer. The Edgars have expanded their farming to include beans, preserves, pies and natural beef.
The Buyks family bring years of vegetable growing experience from their native Holland. John, Corry and their four children grow all the potatoes you will find at the Innisfail Growers booth.
Blaine and Leona Staples are fourth generation farmers on Leona’s family farm just north of Innisfail. The Staples are best known for their strawberries, but also grow greenhouse crops, specializing in potted flowers and a number of field crops including lettuce and pumpkins.
Carmen and Jose Fuentes are the newest members of the co-op, joining in 2003. With education in greenhouse management, they now occupy a 6,000 square foot greenhouse filled with tomatoes.
Spragg’s Meat Shop
Greg and Bonnie Spragg started farming at their present location in March 2002. After being employed at a hog barn in the area, Greg’s desire was to have his own hogs. So Bonnie purchased 3 little pigs for his birthday in May 2002. And the herd grew from there. By the end of the summer, Greg had raised 75 weaner pigs to market weight. Of those he kept 25 females for breeding stock and the rest were sold.
They now raise around 700 market hogs per year on our farm. There would be anywhere from 250-350 hogs on pasture at any one time. In addition to the typical cuts of pork you would expect to find, including our perfect bacon, we also create new sausage flavours all the time. Come down and taste the difference in our meat yourself.
2 Greek Gals
2 Greek Gals is a family run business situated in the Calgary Farmer’s Market. You will often see mom, dad and kids working together to make the best Greek food in the city. Roula and her good friend opened 2 Greek Gals over ten years ago and have since been delighting their customers with the most delicious Greek food. When Roula’s friend pulled out of 2 Greek Gals, her husband Jim became the second Greek gal! Both Jim and Roula love to see people happy when they eat their authentic Greek food and that is why they also cater for parties and events. These family recipes come directly from Greece and have been enjoyed by their family for generations and now can be enjoyed by yours.
Sylvan Star Cheese
When the Schalkwijk family, Jan, his wife Janneke, and son Jeroen, wanted to start a farm with more space and more future, they decided to take a look in Canada. In 1995, they found a nice place between Red Deer and Sylvan Lake, they settled and started their dairy farm with a herd of Holsteins and adapted their names to English…John, Jannie and Jerome. When the Schalkwijk’s had a hard time finding a good piece of cheese in Canada, Jan decided to go back to an old skill: making good Gouda. Jan had a long history of Gouda making….being a cheese maker in Holland for 30 years, learning from his mother whom also made Gouda. In 1999, he ordered equipment from Holland and started Sylvan Star Cheese.
Sylvan Star Cheese has won numerous Canadian awards as #1 Gouda and Extra Aged Gouda. The Extra Aged Gouda, also known as ‘Grizzly’ because of its bite and power, is ranked #4 in the world! In fact, Jan seems to follow in his mother’s footsteps, as in 1952, she won first prize in Holland for her Gouda, which she received her prize from Queen Wilhelmina.
Today, their son Jeroen runs the dairy farm with a herd of about 120 Holsteins. Jan and Janneke are devoted to making between 30,000 to 40,000 kilograms of cheese a year!
