RiverBend Colony

Riverbend Hutterite Colony is located near Carsland, Alberta. They have been farming there since 1974 and have a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and other products including eggs and bread. Jacob Gross is the unofficial boss of the produce. He overseas the growing and selling of the product and is at the Calgary Farmers’ Market every weekend (during the summer months when they go to market). Jacob has been farming since he has been old enough to farm. It is those years of experience that help him run the farm that has “the best potatoes this side of P.E.I.” Jacob has a refreshing sense of humour and a positive attitude. There are less than 100 people on the colony. Their most popular products are their strawberries, peas and potatoes.
