Cherry Pit

Sharla Dube started her produce business 15 years ago in Canmore. Hauling two tables out to the farmers’ market each weekend and filling them with fresh B.C. fruits direct from the growers was her respite from a hectic day job. Today, her fresh fruits and vegetables take up more than 400 square feet of space, and a lot more than two tables. What started as a hobby business turned into her day job.  The Cherry Pit specializes in locally grown fruits and vegetables direct from the growers, but Sharla also loves bringing in those special hard-to-find items like fiddleheads and fresh figs. As a busy mother of two, Sharla still looks forward to her time at the market as a break.
