Canada Day at the Market

The Calgary Farmers’ Market invites you to celebrate Canada’s 150th with local food, local music, and local beer too!

Join us for some patriotic fun on Saturday, July 1st that gives back to the community we love so much. In partnership with Big T’s Smokehouse, we’ll be hosting a beer garden in support of the Calgary Food Bank. You’re invited to enjoy beer from Trolley 5, Common Crown, Half Hitch, and the much-loved (and gluten-free!) Meadjito from Fallentimber!

Take in live local music, local beer, and BBQ from 11am-4pm on Saturday, July 1st on our SE patio.

AND to ensure you have a safe ride, we’ve partnered with Uber for our Canada Day Beer Garden. Use code: CFMCanada150 to receive your first ride free, up to $15 (new users only).

*Minors prohibited in beer garden. Cash only.

Bare Bottoms Diaper Drive

Did you know that 1 in 5 moms struggle to provide clean diapers for their children? This Mother’s Day, help a family in need.

The Calgary Food Bank experienced a 16.5% increase in demand in 2016, providing 4,141 baby hampers to families in need and they rely solely on donations for diapers. The Bare Bottoms Diaper Drive was started in 2013 by an amazing Calgary Food Bank volunteer who wanted to address a need in the community. As anyone who has ever cared for a baby will tell you, costs can add up quickly!

We’ll be collecting diaper donations from May 11th - 14th and welcome:
- new and opened packages of diapers
- all sizes needed, particularly 5 & 6
- pull-ups and training pants welcomed too

Kids’ Garden Club by Poppy Innovations

Poppy Innovations’ is hosting their kids’ garden club for a one hour session every Thursday in the summer for two age groups: 4 - 8 year olds and 9 - 12 year olds.

Learning how to sow, grow, harvest and prepare food will help kids develop gardening and cooking skills and empower them to make healthy food choices throughout their lives and inspire children’s natural curiosity to try new vegetables and fruit.

The Calgary Farmers’ Market will provide Market Bucks & a shopping bag to children registered for the FULL program. Market Bucks are accepted like cash by all Market vendors. Enjoy your market bucks to quietly shop while your child is participating in the garden club or purchase goodies with your young ones to show you what they learned and make their delicious recipe at home.

Register for the Full Program ($120 all 8 sessions per child)

Or register for individual sessions: $20 per session per child
